The mobile future. O2 Priority campaign, and Wellington Zoo

Saw a nice post from Wadds earlier which drew my attention to O2's very clever interactive "send a pic of our PRIORITY print ad in and win a money can't buy prize" campaign at the moment. Really smart campaign (though, as he is, I'm looking forward to it working with my iPhone) [update - had a nice email from Geoff at Archibald Ingall Stratton to say that the app is now live.]

As pure co-incidence would have it later this afternoon I was talking about mobile with some colleagues considering a mobile campaign to reach teenagers.

I don't need much of an excuse to dig out and demonstrate Saatchi and Saatchi NZ and HitLab NZ's groundbreaking mobile campaign for Wellington Zoo. So here goes. I can't believe that I haven't seen anything similar since - hats of to them for their Gold at Cannes in 2007 last year for it. It is genius. But it isn't on YouTube.

If you haven't seen it before, it's worth a click. But do please come back ;)

Does this viral stink?

Not entirely sure what the brief was here. I guess it's a simple "put leftovers in fridge" message. In which case - sorry FSA - I'm not sure this works at all. A bad-taste/retro/70s family with the squits does not make me want to change my refridgerating behaviour at all. Or laugh.

What do you think? Is this post Cholmondly-Warner video going to be the next big thing in crazy viral goodness? Or is the oft-repeated "diarrhoea" tag just a bit shit.

Now DON'T FORGET TO WASH YOUR HANDS.
